
Welcome to the FAB Weight Management Service
For anyone who needs support to lose weight! Our 6 week courses are fun, interactive and designed to help you identify and overcome your food and exercise barriers to make a positive lifestyle change.
Each 2hour session contains an interactive nutrition workshop and exercise session. Our FAB Nutritionists will help you to understand various food topics and our FAB Exercise Mentors will support you to become more physically active. All exercise sessions are tailored to your ability, so everyone can take part!
We will monitor your weight over the 6 week course as well as your lifestyle changes. At 3, 6 and 12 months after your course you will be invited back to see us and we will find out how you are doing and be available to answer any questions. If you have gone back to old ways we can help you set new goals to get you back on track!

What will I get out of the nutrition sessions?
Here's what we cover:
Session 1 - The ‘Eat well' Plate - Learn which foods fit into which groups and learn how much we should eat from these groups per day.
Session 2 - Food Labelling - Learn how food labels work, the different systems in use and what you should be looking for when reading them.
Session 3 - Portion Sizes - Learn about how much you should be eating from the different food groups of the eat well plate and find out what equals a portion size for individual foods.
Session 4 - Fats - Learn about the health risks of eating a high fat diet and learn about healthier fat alternatives
Session 5 - Sugars - Learn about how much sugar is hidden inside food and drink and the health risks associated with a high sugar diet.
Session 6 - Healthy Snacks - Learn about the importance of snacking and find out which foods are more suitable to snack on.
All nutrition sessions are delivered by Nutritionists from Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service. The sessions are hands-on and interactive. We encourage people to ask as many questions as they can and we hope to dispel some of the many myths that surround eating and losing weight!*
Have you always found it hard to exercise?
The FAB team are here to help you understand and identify what exercise really means to you. Our mentors will highlight what activities count as exercise and how much exercise will help you to improve your health and help you to lose weight!
Through 10 years of experience we know that life throws up barriers to good intentions every day, but with FAB support you will have the skills to live healthily everyday!
